Maintenance of Diesel Generator Sets
Maintenance I
I. Daily:
1) Review the generator set's daily operation log.
2) Inspect the generator: Check oil level and coolant level.
3) Perform daily checks for damage, leaks, and loose or worn belts.
II. Weekly:
1) Repeat daily inspections.
2) Inspect air filter; clean or replace air filter element.
3) Drain water or sediment from fuel tank and fuel filter.
4) Inspect water filter.
5) Inspect starter battery.
6) Start generator and check for abnormalities.
7) Clean the radiator fins at both ends with an air gun and clean water.
Maintenance II
1) Repeat daily and weekly checks.
2) Change generator engine oil. (Oil change interval: 250 hours or one month)
3) Replace oil filter. (Oil filter element replacement interval: 250 hours or one month)
4) Replace the fuel filter element. (Replacement interval: 250 hours or one month)
5) Replace or inspect the coolant. (Water filter replacement interval: 250-300 hours; add DCA coolant additive to the cooling system)
6) Clean or replace the air filter. (Air filter replacement interval: 500-600 hours)
